Cliffs of Fundy Geopark

The Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark is located along the north shore of the Minas Basin of the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia, stretching from Lower Truro in the east to Apple River in the west, a distance of 165 km. Four Seasons Retreat is right in the middle of the Global Geopark. Most of our geosites can be accessed by NS highways 2 and 209 as they meander along this awesome coastline.

The Bay of Fundy is home to the highest tides in the world, and they have helped to shape our landscape. Visit the amazing cliffs, tidal estuaries, beaches, waterfalls, trails, and lighthouses.

Kenomee Canyon Trail

Kenomee Canyon Trail is a spectacular 18-km wilderness hike into the Economy River Wilderness Area along the edge of the Economy River gorge. You will experience great fishing holes along the river and in the lake: 2 small waterfalls at camping spots; rock formations, fossils in 450 million year old rocks; numerous lichens; wildflowers; wildlife; challenging rock climbs; fording small brooks after heavy rains and the peace and quiet of nature at her best.

You may be fortunate enough to spot a mainland moose. Always give wild animals lots of space. Register at Cobequid Interpretation Centre, Economy.
